Local cocoa LOCOCO featured in Food & Wine’s best hot chocolates
PARK CITY, Utah — The healthier hot cocoa company LOCOCO, founded by Anna Bloom and Kaitlin McHugh, has been featured in Food & Wine’s Best Instant Hot Chocolates. It was crowned “most spike-able” by Food & Wine. Bloom’s dad invented a cocktail (listed below) in the business’s early days.
“We’re thrilled that out of all of the hot chocolate tested by Food & Wine specifically for outstanding taste, LOCOCO ranked in the top 5,” said McHugh. “We set out to make a cocoa that was genuinely healthy and nourishing but vowed not to settle for anything less than truly DELICIOUS, so this is tremendously validating for us.”
LOCOCO is an adaptogenic hot chocolate with whole food ingredients, like cacao, chaga mushroom, maitake mushroom, cordyceps mushroom, lion’s mane mushroom, and organic spices. It’s nutrient-dense and the adaptogens help your body respond to stress, anxiety, and fatigue. It is plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo-friendly, and low in sugar, made for everyday drinking with no guilt.
“Our recommendation is LOCOCO just with oat milk to keep the health benefits front and center… though we certainly have tried it with booze,” Bloom said. “We have a tequila recipe on our website from my dad. Never tried it with bourbon as Food & Wine recommends— definitely worth a try!”
Lococo is sold online and in local stores like the Park City Mercantile, Corner Store Market, Fair Weather Natural Foods, The Collective, and Guest Haus Juicery.
