Dominon Energy’s Education Equity Scholarship accepting applications
UTAH — Dominion Energy’s Education Equity Scholarship Program is now accepting applications. The six-year program is a $10 million initiative to help historically underrepresented communities within the company’s service area pursue their undergraduate education. Eligible students can apply for the program through January 25, 2023, at 4 p.m. EST.
The program will award 60 total scholarships amounting to a total of $500,000. For students at two-year schools, 20 scholarships of $5000 each will be available. The remaining 40 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in four-year schools, with each recipient receiving $10,000.
“We have already seen a tremendous return on investment supporting students obtaining higher education,” said Robert M. Blue, Dominion Energy’s president and chief executive officer. “Dominion Energy remains committed to investing in students’ access to higher education, strengthening our communities and future generations, and building a sustainable workforce.”
To be eligible, students must have higher education expenses and identify as Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; American Indian or Alaska Native; Asian; or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. High school seniors, graduates, those already enrolled in undergraduate programs, or those planning to enroll in a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school located within Dominion’s service area are eligible. Students are also required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
