SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Governor Spencer Cox will host a roundtable discussion about the young-peoples’ mental health crisis with different state governors from around the country on October 18-19 at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
The roundtable event will mark the launch of the Youth Mental Health Initiative by the National Governors Association (NGA). Governor Cox is the vice chair of the NGA, and will be working with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to organize and host the event. Governors who attend the event will be accompanied by their First Spouses and other mental health experts.
The mental health initiative is “in response to rising rates of mental health distress among young people” and designed to help “Governors from across the nation collaborate to develop bipartisan solutions.”
