Snowbird says new cabins will be ready for winter season following accident
SNOWBIRD, Utah — Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon said that scenic rides on its new aerial tram cabins will begin July 15 and that both new cabins will be operable this winter.
It follows an incident in late May in which one of the new cabins was damaged beyond repair during installation.
Looks like rigging failed as they were jostling the cabin onto the hanger mounting bolts. Thankfully no one was injured. pic.twitter.com/a99EDIGQbX

The new tram cabins feature floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a summer seasonal experience featuring glass floor panels and a rooftop balcony, which is the first of its kind in the United States. The rooftop balcony has room for up to 15 people.
