Andrew Wright promoted to Summit County Sheriff’s Captain

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Lieutenant Andrew Wright will now be Captain Andrew Wright. Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez announced the promotion on Wednesday:

“Captain Wright’s promotion adds another rank to the executive leadership of the office,” the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

“Captain Wright has served in law enforcement for more than 18 years. Nearly 16 of those years have been with Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

“During his tenure, Captain Wright has served as a Patrol Deputy, Patrol Corporal, Courts Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant (K9/Traffic), Patrol Administrative Sergeant, SWAT Assistant Team Leader, Administrative Sergeant, and most recently as the Administrative Lieutenant.

“He has also served as the Office Public Information Officer (PIO) for the past six (6) years. Captain Wright will continue to serve as the PIO.

“Captain Wright earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. His education and passion for employees has served the Office well.

“Captain Wright has helped transform our hiring process, and most recently, has become our internal human resource liaison. His education and knowledge have streamlined employee needs and relationships with external stakeholders.”
