Opening Day for Snowbird’s 50th season

Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah — Today is the first day of Snowbird’s 50th Anniversary season. A lack of fresh snow didn’t hinder skiers or snowboarders from showing up for opening day bragging rights. Three of 11 lifts and 13 of 142 runs are open on a base of 27″ of human-made and natural snow.

Offering 3,240 vertical feet of terrain for all skill levels of skiers and riders, Snowbird boasts Utah’s longest ski season and annually averages 500″.

Located six miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird is a 45 min drive from Salt Lake City International Airport.

Snowbird’s 2,500 acres allows for exploring the backcountry via heli-skiing, snowcat skiing and snowmobile tours. There are four lodges and 15 restaurants.
