PARK CITY, Utah — Redistricting is an issue Leadership Park City Class 27 is looking to tackle this year.
They are conducting a community survey and want your input — survey. It’s a quick, three-question form.
States redraw district lines every 10 years following completion of the United States census.
Utah passed a ballot measure in 2018 that created the Legislative Redistricting Committee — which lets citizens draw their own map and submit them to the committee.
However, Republicans fully control the congressional redistricting process in Utah
The Republican state legislature can modify or reject the committee’s proposals.
The final map must be passed by the legislature and signed into law by Gov. Spencer Cox.
