Calls for service: Police and sheriff logs

Calls for service made to the Park City Police Department (PCPD) and the Summit County Sheriff Department (SCSD) for the week of September 6 – 12.

MONDAY:

SCSD – Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance that was occurring at a restaurant in Promontory. Both involved parties left the restaurant prior to the deputies arrival. The woman in her 40s from Texas was located a short distance from the restaurant heavily intoxicated and uncooperative with the investigation began screaming expletives. She was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and intoxication. Contact was attempted with the man at his residence, but he would not answer the door. The case remains active.

PCPD –  Officers found a car parked in a lot on Bonanza Dr. Upon contact, officers found two people sleeping inside. Drug paraphernalia could be seen in plain view. The occupants were cited for possession and released.
 
SCSD –  On Landmark Dr., deputies arrived and made contact with a man from California in his 70s who was agitated and upset,  it appeared to deputies the man was experiencing a mental health episode. The man continued to yell and scream when his dog (German Shepard) attacked a deputy. The man was detained until medical services arrived. The dog was released to animal control and the deputy was given medical assistance at the scene and cleared. The man was released to the care of medical services.
 
TUESDAY:
 
SCSD/PCPD – A call came in to deputies just after 10 pm from a parent stating that their child, a student at Ecker Hill Middle School, had been told not to come to school tomorrow because there was going to be a shooting. That had been said to the student during school hours, outside of the school, on school grounds. The two juveniles that made the “alarming” statements were located and they admitted to making statements about “shooting the school up”.  Both juveniles stated that they were joking when they made the statements, and it was determined that they did not have access to firearms. The two juveniles that made the threatening statements were told to stay home from school until further notice and they were released to their parents. The case remains open and active and was forwarded to the Ecker Hill School Resource Officer for further follow-up.
 
SCSD – On the Mirror Lake Highway, at a small cabin community, it was reported that on an earlier date, an employer threatened employees with a gun when they tried to get paid for a job. The employees, who expressed hesitancy to call authorities, live in Salt Lake County as does the employer. Deputies and the employees are still gathering evidence.
 
WEDNESDAY:
 
PCPD – A gas line was broken on Aerie Dr at a construction site. Officers conducted traffic control in the area for almost two hours.

THURSDAY:

PCPD – A car was driven into a ditch and got stuck at the base of the First Time chairlift at Park City Mountain Resort. Officers suspected the driver was impaired. She was subsequently arrested for DUI after field sobriety tests were administered.

PCPD – Officers responded to The Market grocery store on a report of a man asleep in his vehicle. Officers noticed indications of impairment and arrested him.

FRIDAY:

PCPD – Multiple noise complaints were responded to around the Old Town area, all of which were resolved with verbal warnings.

SATURDAY:

PCPD – A 9/11 20th anniversary memorial was held at City Park that was well attended.

PCPD –  Park City Fire District (PCFD) along with the SCSD and the PCPD attended a first responder recognition BBQ on Kilby Rd. The residents in that community wanted to express their thanks for the rescue efforts that were taken during the recent wildfire that threatened their neighborhoods.

SUNDAY:

SCSD – Search and Rescue (SAR) was called out to help with an overturned sailboat at Rockport Reservoir. The boat was ultimately righted, and the single involved party was found in good condition.

PCPD – Officers responded with the fire department to 825 Main on the report of a water line break in the parking garage.

PCPD – In the North Marsac parking lot, a suspect was transported to jail and charged with assault and intoxication.
