REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon & Half Marathon will be held Sep. 11

BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON — REVEL’s Big Cottonwood Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, September 11 this year.

The race is a favorite for those looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon, because of its downhill course, providing runners with an extra gravitational push throughout the entire race.

The full marathon course starts at 9,696 feet in the Wasatch Mountains and ends at 4,441 feet in the Salt Lake Valley.

The average marathon times on the course are more than a half-hour faster than average times at the New York and Chicago Marathons.
