Park City band The Killers rained out in big apple big concert

NEW YORK, NY. — The band the Killers whose lead singer Brandon Flowers lives in Park City, was waiting in the wings for the ‘We Love New York City, The Homecoming Concert’ on Saturday.

The Killers have been selling out stadiums for years.

Tropical storm Henri was also waiting in the wings of the East Coast to ruin the vibe of the Central Park show.

A little more than half of the three hour long-planned show was well underway and had remained dry when the rain began and rapidly became too dangerous to continue.

Spectators, many of whom were attending their first musical event since the pandemic shut down the scene, scrambled for shelter.

LL Cool J had just performed after Andrea Bocelli and Barry Manilow was on stage ready to welcome Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon to come.

The Killers took the rainstorm in stride smiling and dancing while playing an impromptu song or two backstage for the few friends in the room realizing they inevitably weren’t going to make it on stage.

Flowers and his band from Utah kept the mood light in light of the darkened sky.
