SCSD – Deputies contacted a Park City woman in her 40’s outside of her residence regarding an unrelated agency assist. She was taken into custody for multiple active arrest warrants out of multiple jurisdictions in Utah and booked into the Summit County jail without incident.
THURSDAY:
PCPD – Witnesses reported seeing a car hit a parked car on Main St. and then leave the scene. Officers quickly located and stopped the car. The driver was found to be driving impaired with an infant in the car. The driver and child were transported to the Police Department where officers waited for a grandparent to take custody of the infant. The driver was booked into jail for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and other traffic-related charges.
SCSD – A man in his 50’s from Salt Lake City and a woman in her 40’s from Roosevelt were booked into the Summit County Jail on drug charges after deputies found methamphetamine pipes in their car which was parked at the 7-11 near the Park City Home Depot. They both claimed the paraphernalia belonged to the other person. The man also had an active felony warrant out of Salt Lake District Court.
SATURDAY:
SCSD – A Park City man in his 50’s contacted deputies stating that the online dating website he’d joined may have fraudulently taken his money and given nothing in return. The woman on the phone representing the website had told him to send pictures of two, $60 prepaid cards for payment to join, which he did having then heard nothing back from the woman or the site.
SUNDAY:
SCSD – A car was stolen from a homeowner’s property in Park Meadows overnight. The 2017 Honda had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
SCSD – Deputies were called by a man who told them his daughter, in her 20’s, contacted him regarding her place of employment at the Park City Outlet Mall where she’s an assistant manager at a store. She said there was a bomb threat and that her dad should call 911. The father called deputies who responded and took up positions around the perimeter. Dispatch called into the store and the assistant manager answered and came out to the deputies. During the investigation, it was found to be a fake threat. The assistant manager admitted to calling in the threat to her father because she wanted to leave work. The incident was resolved before any evacuations took place. A statement was collected from the suspect and the case was sent to the county attorney for review of charges of a Terroristic Threat.

I've lived in Park City for 30 years but right off the starting line, my journalism professors expressed plaudits after class for writing more so about the small-town sports in the surrounding mountains than the urban updates they assigned. Therefore, I’m on par punning and penning Parkites' pastimes. Turning high and early through my career, I’ve worked communications for The Olympics, the Paralympics and the Special Olympics. Additionally, there's been National Geographic, Patagonia, NCAA, USA Nordic and the United States Library of Congress, so I guess you could say this ain't my first rodeo.
