Significant progress made on Art Nord Fire
WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Containment of the Art Nord Fire increased to 55% according to the Utah Department of Natural Resources.
The latest report on the size of the blaze was 46.3 acres. The fire was human-caused by target shooting.
“Fire resources were able to make significant progress yesterday on extinguishing hot spots within the thick oak brush bunches and tree stumps that are located next to the containment line that have the potential to reignite the wildfire,” The U.S. Forest Service said in a statement. “Today, crews will continue that work along the line and putting out smoking vegetation that is within the fire interior.”
Old Snowbasin Road is still closed to all traffic between Basin View and Art Nord trailhead.
