Fire District Chief Hewitt’s family escorted home
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Fire District Chief Paul Hewitt’s family was escorted home yesterday.
Chief Hewitt passed away on Friday at a hospital in Eugene, Oregon, at the age of 58.
He was critically injured in a UTV accident while on vacation.
“Thank you to all who helped with the escort and those that showed support for the family along the way,” the Fire District said in a statement.
Chief Hewitt spent 20 years with the Salt Lake City Fire Department before joining Park City Fire as Chief in 2011.
“He set an example of true leadership and touched so many with his genuine personality and compassion for others. He will be greatly missed by the Park City Fire Department family. We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
