SNAPPED: That moon is super
So we couldn’t see the moon the last two nights due to that pesky/desperately-needed rain and snow, but hey, a morning moon works too. This week’s was the first supermoon of the year.
According to NASA, the term supermoon was coined by the astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 and refers to either a new or full moon that occurs when the moon is within 90% of perigee, its closest approach to Earth.
