NORAD Santa Tracker Celebrates 65 Years
PARK CITY, Utah. — This year marks the 65th year that the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is tracking Santa. In the spirit of keeping Christmas virtual this year, you can follow Mr. Claus and his team of reindeer online as they traverse the globe.
According to NORAD, “The NORAD Tracks Santa website receives nearly fifteen million unique visitors from more than 200 countries and territories around the world. Volunteers receive more than 130,000 calls to the NORAD Tracks Santa hotline from children around the globe.”
As the sun was rising in Park City this morning, Santa was tracked riding his sleigh through Kabul, Afghanistan. If families plan to track Santa his year it can be both fun and educational. Their site has information on their interactive map about each of the stops Santa makes around the globe.
