Free Books For PC Kids Thanks to Dolly Parton Imagination Library
PARK CITY, Utah. — The Dolly Parton Imagination Library which gifts a free book every month to children from birth to age five, is coming to town thanks to funding from Park City’s Early Childhood Alliance.
The Park City Community Foundation initiated the Early Childhood Alliance in 2018 to provide equitable access to childcare and early learning for children newborn to three-years-old. They stated on their website that “Participation in [Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library] enhances the home literacy environment, increases interactions between caregivers and children, creates positive attitudes about reading and ultimately helps with kindergarten literacy readiness.”
Anyone can register their child online to be a part of the program, regardless of income. Eligible zip codes for the Park City program include: 84098, 84060 and 84068. You can contribute to funding the program by donating to the Early Childhood Alliance. These donations will go towards the cost of books which is about $2.10 per book, including shipping. To learn even more about the Imagination Library, families can join online for the free worldwide premiere of “The Library that Dolly Built” on Dec. 9 at 5pm MST.
