Cole Sport

In 1972, after finishing graduate school in Washington, Gary and Jana Cole moved from Seattle to Park City, Utah with plans to spend a lone winter in the Wasatch Mountains. After a decade of working, playing, and becoming intertwined in the Park City community, Cole Sport was born out of the couple’s passion for mountain living and the outdoor lifestyle. The original Cole Sport opened at the Park City Mountain Resort in October 1982. Over the following 14 years, the company expanded to four stores in the Park City and Deer Valley area. Gary’s motivation was to build his own business around a sport and lifestyle that he loved, while also filling the void of a high profile, fashion forward, customer service based ski shop. Cole Sport has become a fixture in the Park City area due to this initial vision, strong community involvement, and commitment to eco-friendly practices. Cole Sport remains a family owned business, with Gary, Jana, and their two sons actively involved. The greater family extends to the large, core management group that averages over 15 years with the company and our great employees that share the same enthusiasm, vision, and values that make Cole Sport unique.
