Deer Valley marks record number of ski runs with discounted lift tickets, $2 chili

New passholder perk ties turkey chili prices to daily run count—bowls starting at $1.33

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is offering discounted lift tickets and $2 bowls of its famous turkey chili this winter as it opens a record number of ski runs under its ongoing terrain expansion.

Deer Valley said Wednesday that 132 runs are currently open, the most ever available at one time at Deer Valley, surpassing last winter’s peak of 123. The openings are part of Deer Valley’s “Expanded Excellence” project, which will ultimately bring the resort’s total to 202 ski runs.

To mark each day a new record is set, Deer Valley has introduced a promotion it calls “Record Rates for Record Runs.” On those days, skiers can purchase half-day lift tickets priced to match the number of runs open. For example, with 132 runs available, half-day tickets cost $132. When the resort reaches its full buildout, the price would be $202.

The discounted tickets provide mountain access starting at 12:30 p.m. and are sold the same day on a walk-up basis at Deer Valley ticket offices.

“Each new run is a new piece of the resort’s full vision coming into view,” Deer Valley President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett said in a statement. “We look forward to giving our guests the opportunity to see it all for themselves.”

In addition to the ticket promotion, Deer Valley is offering a passholder-only food special tied to the expanding terrain. Deer Valley and Ikon Pass holders can purchase the resort’s signature turkey chili for a price linked to the daily run count, ranging from $1.32 with 132 runs open to a maximum of $2.02 once all 202 runs are available.

The chili promotion is available daily at the Deer Valley East Village Lodge for passholders who have scanned their pass on the mountain that day.

Deer Valley has not announced when all 202 runs are expected to open, but resort officials said additional terrain will continue to come online as conditions allow.

Both offers are available for a limited time this season. To learn more, visit the Deer Valley’s website.
