Fire damages trailer at Park City High School construction site

PARK CITY, Utah — Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze Tuesday evening near a construction site at Park City High School, with damage limited to a single cargo trailer.

The Park City Fire District responded to the area near Dozier Field at about 5:40 p.m. Feb. 3 and had the fire fully extinguished by 6 p.m., according to a district statement issued Wednesday. No students or staff were in danger, and school operations were not affected.

“Safety is a shared commitment,” Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman said in the statement. “We’re proud to partner with our local first responders to ensure a secure and supportive environment for students and staff members every single day.”

Huntsman said the district was “fortunate that this was an isolated incident with no injuries or property damage” and thanked the fire district and Park City Police Department for their response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with the school district and fire district working together to determine how it started.
