PARK CITY, Utah — The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has unveiled a new badge design that, it says, reflects both the agency and the community it serves.
Sheriff Bates introduced the badge, describing the redesign as “several years in the making” and more than a cosmetic change.
“As you begin to see this new badge in the coming days and weeks, know that it symbolizes our shared values: honor, courage, and trust,” the statement said.
The sheriff’s office said the badge’s elements were chosen to honor the agency’s history, its deputies and staff, and Summit County residents.
Officials also framed the badge as a symbol of the relationship between residents and local law enforcement.
“We are proud to wear a badge that represents not just our office, but the strong partnership we share with our community,” the statement said, thanking residents for their continued trust and support.
