Monday, January 12
Incident: Motorist assist
Officers assisted a truck that had hit the guardrail on Wheaton Way.
Incident: Traffic complaint
A truck on Main Street was reportedly idling loud before 7 a.m.
Tuesday, January 13
Incident: Business assist
A caller complained about a men outside of a Main Street bar that was yelling at people as they walked by.
Incident: Parking problem
Several vehicles were parked on the street outside an Airbnb on Hidden Oaks Lane.
Wednesday, January 14
Incident: Traffic stop
Multiple drivers were cited for stopping in the middle of the road and double parking to drop off passengers for Uber and Lyft rides.
Thursday, January 15
Incident: DUI
Deputies initiated a traffic stop after receiving a report that a vehicle was driving on the wrong side of Silver Spur Road. After locating the vehicle, deputies observed it fail to maintain its lane. The driver showed signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol on his breath and open containers inside the vehicle. Field sobriety tests further indicated impairment, and the driver was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Incident: Wildlife problem
Moose were reportedly trying to cross Bonanza Drive.
Deputies responded to a reported vehicle theft and determined the vehicle had been taken without authorization by the registered owner’s adult son. The suspect was located traveling on U.S. 40, where a brief pursuit ended when deputies boxed in the vehicle without incident. The driver was taken into custody, and signs of intoxication were observed. He was transported to the SCSO Jail, where he performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests. The suspect was booked for evading, suspected unauthorized use of a vehicle, and DUI. The vehicle was recovered by the registered owner.
Friday, January 16
Incident: Suspicious
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle that had been parked at the top of their street most of the day.
Incident: Parking problem
A truck was illegally parked in a handicap spot on Main Street and was taking up space in adjacent stalls as well.
Incident: Citizen assist
A vehicle collision was reported on Park Avenue, right outside of the Double Tree.
Saturday, January 17
Incident: Citizen assist
A woman reported that a maintenance worker got into her wallet and took a photo of her ID. The employer is looking into the situation.
Incident: Special assignment
Extra traffic direction was deployed due to Deer Valley overflow parking until approximately 4:30 p.m. Traffic was light and traveling normally after that. No enforcement action was taken.
Incident: Citizen assist
A caller reported that they had hit a vehicle on Deer Valley Drive around noon. They left information on the vehicle they struck, but hadn’t heard from anyone yet.
Sunday, January 18
Incident: Citizen assist
A resident reported that a USPS truck had broken down in their driveway the previous day and was still parked there.
Incident: Lost property
A caller reported losing her purse. She believes someone may have taken it from her car.
