Police Log: Bomb threat at Pendry, disorderly conduct on Main Street

Monday, January 5

Incident: Alcohol offense
Deputies responded to a vehicle that had slide off the road. While speaking with the driver, an open alcoholic beverage was observed in the vehicle. After an investigation, the driver did not show signs of impairment but was issued a citation for the open container.
Incident: Disorderly conduct
Reports had come in about individuals observed yelling in the brew pub parking lot on Main Street and looked to be preparing to fight. All parties dispersed by the time the responding officer drove into the lot.
Incident: Non-injury accident
A white SUV was reportedly hit by a High Valley Transit bus.
Incident: Threatening 
An employee at lodging on Sidewinder Dr reported a gentleman who was not a guest threatening to beat up the bar tender.
Incident: Business assist
A man was reportedly refusing to pay at a bar on Main Street.

Tuesday, January 6

Incident: Hit and run
A vehicle owner reported that some hit their car vehicle and drove away. Someone else saw the incident, took a picture, and provided more info.

Incident: Found property
The Park City Fire Department reported a bag of iPads that were dropped off at the station in a PCFD bag. The iPads did not belong to the fire department.

Incident: Motorist assist
A vehicle died in the lane of travel, and the owner could not get it into neutral. A responding officer helped put the car in neutral and got it pushed off the road.

Wednesday, January 7

Incident: Hit and run 
A hit and run was reported on Lucky John Dr. The caller stated a truck wasn’t put in park and it rolled and hit mailbox and a road sign.

Incident: Parking problem
A vehicle was parked in the ADA parking space in front of the Postal Office on Main. She was advised of the offense and warned of consequences.

Incident: Welfare check 
A caller reported a man in his 20-30s with a backpack near Prospector Park. He appeared to be hitch hiking, and the caller requested a welfare check.

Incident: Traffic stop 
An Uber driver was double parking while trying to pick up passengers. He was advised to look into a DLS pass. Multiple instances of double parking on Main Street were reported this week.

Thursday, January 8

Incident: Wildlife problem
A large group of deer were reported trying to cross the road in front of the Iron Horse apartments.

Incident: Disorderly conduct
A man was reportedly being hostile and making racist remarked to staff at a Main Street business.

Incident: Traffic complaint
A caller reported a mini cooper and SUV that were doing donuts in a parking lot and were getting very close to hitting other cars in the
lot.

Incident: Suspicious 
Two men broke into a building on Park Ave and were smoking in the common area of the building.

Incident: Bomb Threat
Deputies responded to a bomb threat at Pendry Park City. Someone had called into the restaurant attempting to make a reservation, and restaurant staff believed a threat was made. Deputies evacuated the restaurant KITA and the Pendry Hotel and had nearby establishments under a Shelter in Place order. Deputies and PCFD searched the restaurant for suspicious objects and a K9 was utilized to search the establishment and surrounding area. This case remains under investigation.

Friday, January 9

Incident: Theft 
A woman reported her snowboard was stolen.

Incident: Theft
A man reported that skis were stolen out of his vehicle.

Saturday, January 10

Incident: Wildlife problem
Multiple callers reported a herd of elk crossing on SR-248 from the south side to the north side near the intersection at Richardson Flat Rd.

Incident: DUI
Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on SR-224. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the odor of alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and the driver admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver performed poorly on SFSTs and was placed under arrest. The driver was then transported to jail without incident and the vehicle was state tax impounded.

Sunday, January 11

Incident: Juvenile problem
A caller reported two children sledding onto her driveway.

Incident: DUI
Deputies stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations on exit 2 of US 40. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, the odor of alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. There were several indications of impairment, and the driver performed poorly on SFSTs. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to jail without incident. The driver was also found to be an alcohol restricted driver. The vehicle was state tax impounded.
Incident: Drugs
Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-80 westbound. During the stop, deputies discovered that the driver was in possession of a substance which later tested positive for amphetamines. The driver was transported to jail without incident and the vehicle was state tax impounded.
