PARK CITY, Utah – Park City resident Zoe Atkin has officially secured her place on Team Great Britain for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy.
The American-born skier, who holds dual citizenship and represents Great Britain through her English father, will compete in her second consecutive Olympic Games, this time as a reigning world champion and a strong medal contender.
Atkin’s selection comes after a stellar performance during the 2025-26 World Cup season, where she demonstrated remarkable consistency and skill. Just this past weekend on January 10, she claimed a silver medal in the freeski halfpipe at the US Grand Prix in Aspen, Colorado, with a score of 92.75, adding to her season’s tally that also includes a gold medal from the Copper Mountain World Cup in December 2025.
She told NBC TV after finishing second in Colorado that she was “super stoked to land on the podium today, at the last World Cup before the Olympics.” She continues that she’s lucky to have some training time to add “a couple new tricks between now and then, which should be exciting for everyone to watch.”
Her string of six consecutive podium finishes has solidified her status among the sport’s elite, building significant momentum as she prepares for the Olympic stage.
A graduate of the Winter Sports School in Park City, Atkin has long used the area’s world-class facilities to hone her craft alongside her sister Izzy, a fellow Olympian. While she acknowledges the mental pressure that comes with high-stakes competition, especially following a disappointing ninth-place finish in Beijing, she has adopted a new perspective, focusing on enjoying the process and incorporating new tricks into her runs. This approach, combined with her technical precision, has clearly paid dividends, leading to World Cup honors last season.
Now a full-time student at Stanford University, balancing academics with elite athletics, Atkin enters the Milano Cortina Olympics feeling confident and eager to compete for a medal.
The local community can watch as one of its own takes on the world’s best, with the potential to bring home a historic medal for Team GB and make her mark on the global stage.
