PARK CITY, Utah — The Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame wants any and every ski enthusiast to think about someone they may know who has made a significant contribution to the culture of the industry at-large and nominate them while the time window is open.
The deadline is March 1st to submit a nomination package.
Located at the Utah Olympic Park, the Alf Engen Ski Museum Foundation runs the Hall of Fame as well as the 2002 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games Museum in conjunction with the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation.
“The Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame recognizes that the soul of skiing isn’t found just on the podium, but also in the innovation and labor behind the scenes,” Engen Foundation Executive Director Annie Bommer told TownLift. “We celebrate the pioneers who mapped our backcountry, the hometown competitors who have come back to inspire the next generation, the innovators who engineered new or safer equipment, and the journalists who gave our region its voice.”
Bommer continued, “Beyond just diversifying the types of people we honor, we also focus on recognizing all disciplines under the skiing umbrella, ensuring that icons from para-Nordic, aerials, moguls, ski jumping, para-alpine, cross country, biathlon, and slopestyle, and more, are all given a permanent home. Our goal is to reflect the full breadth of the industry, honoring everyone who has left an indelible mark on the mountains of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming.”
