What parents need to know about Park City School District’s 2026–27 Preschool Program

PARK CITY, Utah — Families looking ahead to the 2026-27 school year can now circle key dates as Park City School District prepares to open preschool registration.

Registration for 3- and 4-year-olds begins Tuesday, January 6, 2026, through the district’s website at www.pcschools.us. Parents will use the Eleyo system to request a preschool spot, with school placements announced by Monday, February 2, giving families time to arrange after-school care and transportation.

The district offers preschool programs at all four elementary schools, following the PCSD school calendar with both full-day and half-day options. Full-day preschool runs Monday through Thursday from 8:10 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Half-day sessions operate Monday through Thursday from 8:10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and Friday from 8:10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

To enroll, children must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1 and reside within the Park City School District boundaries. Tuition is listed as less than $1000 a month. Students may bring lunch from home or purchase a preschool meal for a nominal fee using the PayPams app. Families can also arrange bus transportation through the district’s Transportation Department.

District officials emphasize that preschool provides students with a strong foundation before entering kindergarten. Kindergarten teachers report that preschool graduates arrive ready to learn, thanks to a program designed to support early academics while nurturing the “whole child,” including social and emotional development.

Beyond preschool registration, families should note several related deadlines. After-school program registration opens in the beginning of February, offering supervised care with activities for preschoolers until 6 p.m. New student enrollment for the district begins Monday, March 2, 2026, when families will complete the Park City School District New Student Enrollment Application and upload proof of residency and other required documents. The after-school care program registration opens separately in February, with an additional cost.

Tuition assistance is available for eligible families. Scholarships through the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) and UPWARD can help reduce the cost of preschool and expand access to Park City School District programs. District staff said the preschool administrative secretary and outreach coordinator are available to guide families through available options and assist with the application process.

To enroll in preschool, parents should visit the PCSD website on January 6, select “Enrollment,” and then click on “Preschool.” For preschool questions, contact Melissa Tschabrun at mtschabrun@pcschools.us. For after-school care inquiries, reach out to Michelle Coy at mcoy@pcschools.us.

District staff encourage families to keep these dates handy and watch for email updates from the preschool team as the 2026-27 school year approaches.

Preschool is supported in part by a grant from PCEF, including a gift from Park City Mountain through Vail Resorts EpicPromise.
