PARK CITY, Utah — Young dancers from Summit Dance Project brought Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” to Eccles Center on Saturday, delivering a holiday tradition to a packed matinee crowd.

The student performers guided audiences through Clara’s Christmas Eve dream — from the battle with the Mouse King to the Land of Sweets — while families filled the theater with the energy of a December afternoon.

In the lobby afterward, parents snapped photos while dancers still in costume reunited with friends and family, marking another year of a Park City holiday ritual.
Rebecca Brenner's work has been featured in Time, the LA Times, Tin House, The Rumpus, and others. She has lived in Park City for twenty years, now with her two children and wild cattle pup. She is a member of Leadership Park City class 30, the Park City Community Foundation’s DEI cohort, founder of Mindful. Summit County, and a board member of Summit Pride.
