Police Log: Vagrancy reports, moose on Main Street, and vehicle pursuits

Monday, December 8
Incident: Pursuit
Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle pulled to the side of the road and then suddenly made a U turn and fled north on 224. Deputies pursued the vehicle onto Rasmussen where the vehicle was stopped by the P.I.T maneuver before it could get onto I-80. Two people were in the car, and both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Incident: Parking Problem
A caller notified police that an elderly couple had gotten their old, small car stuck on the sidewalk on Holiday Ranch Loop Rd.
Incident: Traffic Stop
A driver was warned for going 50 mph in a 40 mph zone on Marsac Ave coming down the hill while the road was wet and temperatures below freezing.
Incident: Vagrancy
A Park City Municipal employee called in and reported homeless people staying overnight at a couple of buildings that he oversees. He said they come in before they lock the doors for the night.

A Park City Municipal employee reported two individuals had stayed by the bathrooms near skate park overnight.
Tuesday, December 9
Incident: Suspicious
Park City Mountain Resort requested that dispatch check out a possibly abandoned vehicle on King Road by the mine.
Incident: Wildlife Problem
A moose was reported wandering Main Street and drawing a crowd taking photos.
Wednesday, December 10
Incident: Animal Problem
A caller reported “There are white bunnies everywhere” around 1 a.m. near Aimee Court.
Thursday, December 11
Incident: Disturbing the Peace
A caller complained of loud music coming from down the street on Heber Ave, possibly from a business address.
Friday, December 12
Incident: Vehicle Burglary
A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle burglary at the Best Western on Landmark Dr. The complainant stated that sometime during the night, an unknown individual stole toolboxes and power tools from the back of his truck. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has no suspects.
Incident: DUI
Deputies were dispatched on report of a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver and only occupant of the involved vehicle. While speaking with the driver, deputies observed signs of impairment. The driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI. The vehicle was state tax impounded.
Incident: Wildlife Problem
A herd of elk were reported on the soccer fields and also in the Park & Ride parking lot across SR 248.
Incident: Motorist Assist
An officer helped a driver push his car into a parking lot after it had broken down on Park Ave.
Saturday, December 13
Incident: Pursuit
A juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Youth Detention Center after a traffic stop escalated into a pursuit.

Incident: Parking Problem
A resident on Woodside Ave reported a large piece of construction equipment that was blocking his driveway. He was insure of where it belongs or who it belongs to.
Incident: Utility Water
A large amount of flooding was reported near Poison Creek trail and the skate park.
Sunday, December 14
Incident: Warrant of Arrest
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had active warrants attached to it for the owner of the vehicle. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was confirmed to be the individual with the warrants. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the Summit County Jail.
Incident: Citizen Assist
The complainant called to report witnessing a vehicle strike a parked car near Deer Valley Drive.
