PARK CITY, Utah — Park City High School Wrestling closed out 2025 with a thrilling 39–36 victory over the Brighton Bengals on Thursday night during Alumni Night at PCHS.
The highlight of the evening came when junior Jackson Bevans delivered a major upset, defeating Brighton team captain and returning state champion Jarom Gappmayor by 3–0 decision. Bevans’ performance against one of the state’s top wrestlers proved to be a pivotal swing in the dual.
“Brighton is a strong team but our boys came ready, despite a rough week due to illness and injury. They fought hard and that fight resulted in a win for the team,” Miners Head Coach Trip Ocana told TownLift. “We are off to a strong start to the season and look forward to maintaining the momentum we have been building.”

Six of Park City’s seven wins on the night came by pin.
The Minors trailed early before rallying with five consecutive match victories, flipping the dual and improving their season record to 5–1.
Park City also received pin victories from Tidus Schuster, Colin Spencer, Saul Dolores, senior and team captain Jackson Richey, Hudson Underhill, and Nikola Djunic
The Miners are taking time off this week but are participating in the Best of the West tournament in Toelle on January 2-3.
