PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Municipal is launching a seasonal winter shuttle to the Bonanza Flat Conservation Area beginning December 19. The new service is funded entirely by paid parking revenue collected through the summer season at the Bonanza Flat trailheads, according to city staff.
The Bonanza Winter Shuttle will operate Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. through April 19, 2026 (weather permitting), with 30-minute frequency coordinated directly with Park City Transit’s 9 Purple Route timetable, according to a city release.
The new route will begin at Empire Canyon Lodge, which is accessible by taking the 9 Purple Route from the Old Town Transit Center to the Montage stop, then walking to the designated pick-up zone.
Shuttles on this new route can accommodate up to 11 riders per trip, along with four fat-tire bikes, cross-country ski gear, and snowshoes. Dogs are allowed with muzzles.
The city noted that this new service expands access to the Bonanza Flat open space by three times as many service days and double the operating hours compared to previous seasons.
Bonanza Flat remains undeveloped backcountry, and users are advised to access the terrain at their own risk, even when the singletrack and Nordic trails have been freshly groomed by Mountain Trails Foundation and the City’s beloved snowcat, Roy.
