PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Municipal is looking for artists to take on the latest public art project: designs for new bike racks that capture the essence of seven Park City neighborhoods. The chosen concepts will be laser cut and integrated into inverted “U” shaped bike racks, and then installed throughout the city.
The project aims to create “vibrancy on public amenities around Park City and [engage] the community through visual art in ways that reflect the seven neighborhoods of Park City, focusing on themes of natural environment, arts and culture, community, and history,” according to the city’s Request for Proposals.
The designs are meant to reflect the unique identity’s of the seven neighborhoods. Artists submitting proposals can submit a design for one specific neighborhood or create a cohesive set of seven designs for up to all seven neighborhoods.
The following neighborhoods will be included in this project:
- Prospector
- Deer Valley (84060)
- Old Town
- Bonanza Area
- Thaynes Canyon
- Quinns/Park City Heights
- Park Meadows
In addition to encouraging active transportation, project managers hope the new racks will contribute to wayfinding for residents and visitors, enhance neighborhood identity, and enrich public spaces.

Proposals are due by January 30, with a project deadline in summer 2026.
The initiative will be overseen by the Park City Public Art Board in collaboration with the city’s Transportation Planning team, who will determine installation locations.
Interested artists can now view the RFP and email Stephanie Valdez, art coordinator, at stephanie.valdez@parkcity.gov with questions.
