Elizabeth, 20, told the U.S. Ski Team that Mary, is one of the people who has influenced her most in the sport.
Earlier in the month Mary, 22, placed 18th in a World Cup race in Switzerland, earning her first World Cup Points.
“I’m very happy I got to race,” Mary said to the U.S. Ski Team. “It felt good in some parts but it definitely wasn’t perfect. I think it really speaks to how important it is to just send it.”
Elizabeth, after competing in the World Jr. Championships where ski won a bronze medal, has gotten her World Cup points in a few different races and has been a part of Park City’s the Youth Sports Alliance nonprofit. She competed in Copper Mnt., CO earlier in the month but had trouble near the finish line and ended up with a DNF.
Just after the New Year, they will head to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia for an additional two tech races.
