SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Early returns from Tuesday’s Municipal General Election show a mix of close contests and decisive outcomes across Summit County communities.
In Francis City, Jeremie Foreman appears poised to become the next mayor after leading the vote count Tuesday night with 60% of the vote. Clayton Querry and Riley Atkinson hold leads for the town’s two open City Council seats.
The race for Henefer Town Mayor unofficial results show Kay Richins edging James Reese by 20 votes.
In Kamas, Michael Georgi and David Darcey lead the race for two City Council seats, while Stephen Wilmoth appears set to win the Oakley City Mayor race. Christopher Dillman and Amy Reagan currently top the vote count for Oakley’s two City Council positions.
Voters also weighed in on a major education measure: the North Summit School District bond, which sought approval for new facility improvements and capital projects. According to unofficial results, 54% voted against the bond, while 45% voted in favor, effectively rejecting the measure by a clear margin.
County election officials emphasize that these results are preliminary. These results include mail-in ballots received through noon Tuesday and early voting ballots. The results did not include in-person votes on Election Day, ballots left in drop boxes after 12 p.m. and military and overseas voters.
