Ridgeline High eliminates Miners football 49-3 in playoff quarterfinals

MILLVILLE, Utah — In Friday’s away game for 4A neutral teams in Northern Utah’s Cache County, the Ridgeline Riverhawks beat the Park City Miners varsity football team with a massive final score of 49 – 3.

Miners’ Tanner Pidwell kicked in a 33 yard field goal early in the fourth quarter putting Park City’s only points on the board.

City ended the season 33rd in Utah, and 5th in 4A play.

For the season, the following Miners athletes came out as team leaders:

  •  Senior wide receiver and running back Eli Warner exceeded the national average of 11.4 for rushing yards per game with his 46.6. Also in his receiving yards per game with the national average being 9.0, he got 63.9
  • Defenseman and senior Ben Souza had 10.9 tackles per game this year over the national average of 2.6
  • Senior and offenseman, Wyatt Knapp who also plays lacrosse, had o.5 sacks per game above the national average of 0.2

Ridgeline continues its confident march through the playoffs against Provo High this week then the winner of that will go up against the winner of Washington Utah’s Crimson Cliffs and North Logan’s Green Canyon for the Championship title, both those rounds culminating the exciting season at the U of U’s Rice Eccles Stadium.
