Rendezvous Run brings Park City’s running community together

PARK CITY, Utah — When lifelong runner and Minneapolis native Hannah Stoughton moved to Park City, she quickly noticed something was missing: a space where runners of all abilities could gather, connect, and learn from one another.

To fill that gap, four months ago, she and her husband, Will, opened Rendezvous Run in Redstone, which serves as both a specialty running store and a community hub.

Hannah and Will Stoughton, owners of Rendezvous Run in Redstone, have created a welcoming space for runners and walkers alike, blending expert shoe fitting with a sense of community and connection.

“I realized that a hub for the running community was something we were missing here in Park City,” Stoughton said. “I wanted to create a space where people could come in, ask questions, and feel comfortable, even if they were completely new to running or walking.”

Stoughton, who ran cross country in high school and raced bikes in college before returning to running, drew inspiration for the shop’s name from the rendezvous gatherings of the American West.

“Those were places where people from all different backgrounds came together to trade goods and celebrate,” she explained. “That’s what we want to be—a meeting place for people of all backgrounds and abilities to connect through movement.”

Rendezvous Run hosts three weekly group runs designed to make running accessible and enjoyable. Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. attract an after-work crowd, while Friday mornings feature two sessions—one at 6 a.m. and another at 7 a.m.—followed by pancakes and coffee back at the store. Sundays are dedicated to “Slow Sundays,” a 10 a.m. run aimed at beginners and those returning to running, complete with pastries and coffee afterward.

“We often get people who come in and say, ‘I’m not a runner,’” Stoughton noted. “But even if you’re a walker, hiker, or just on your feet all day, having the right footwear and support matters. We want to help everyone move comfortably and feel confident.”

The store also regularly hosts community events, including collaborations with local experts and professionals. Recent gatherings have featured breathing coach Ed Harrold and chiropractor Taylor Wolf, who led sessions on nasal breathing and recovery techniques.

In addition to fostering community, Rendezvous Run offers comprehensive shoe fittings using pressure and gait analysis technology to help customers find the perfect fit.

“We analyze your arch profile, foot pressure, and gait,” Stoughton said. “This helps guide us toward shoes and insoles that are right for your body and your goals.”

Stoughton and her husband, Will, run the shop together, and for them, the mission is about more than just sales. “The best feedback we receive is when someone tells us their body feels better,” she shared. “Helping people move more comfortably and find joy in that movement means the world to us.”

Rendezvous Run is located in Redstone at Kimball Junction. Information on weekly runs and events can be found on the shop’s Instagram and website.
