SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Park City Soccer Club coach Mark Caliguire has been awarded Recreational Coach of the Year by the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA). The honor was presented at the UYSA annual awards gala in Salt Lake City.

“In the foundations program,” Caliguire said in a statement, “I have been able to teach valuable lessons about teamwork, character building and self discipline.”
The award is given each November to an individual who has achieved extraordinary accomplishments as a soccer coach.
For the past seven years, Caliguire, Park City Soccer Club’s foundations director, has guided the club’s youngest members through the Foundations program, which is for U6/U7/U8 athletes who are looking to transition from a recreational program to a competitive program.
Under Caliguire’s leadership, the Foundations program has grown from 20 players to just over 100 and the program continues to thrive as Park City’s most popular youth soccer experience.
“[Caliguire] is a consummate professional,” PCSC Technical Director Eli Ulvi said in a statement. “He instills respect, discipline, and sportsmanship in all of his players. His curiosity and openness make sure he stays current with the needs of his athletes as they take their next big steps into competitive soccer. He has a very sincere connection with our youngest athletes that they never forget.”
Coach Caliguire has his Grassroots certification, played collegiate soccer in California, and still plays on indoor teams whenever he gets a chance. He is often seen on the sidelines of U12 and U13 matches watching players he had in his program years ago.
As a fixture not only on the sidelines but at all PCSC community events including club BBQ’s and the Park City 4th of July parade, Caliguire consistently leads by example with discipline, connection, and respect.
PCSC’s Spring 2026 Foundations program has limited availability left for those with soccer-curious five- to seven-year-old children.
