Holiday lights ceremony brings a sparkling start to the season on Main Street

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City’s historic Main Street will shine bright on Nov. 29 as the community gathers for the annual Holiday Lights Ceremony, a cherished tradition presented by Historic Park City Alliance marking the official start of the festive season. Running from 4 to 6 p.m., the celebration invites locals and visitors to experience the magic of the holidays in the heart of town.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with holiday music from DJ Dolph, who will set the tone with cheerful, seasonal tunes. At 5 p.m., the district’s holiday lights will officially come to life, including the lighting of Main Street’s holiday tree, donated by Deer Valley Resort. The moment transforms the street into a glowing winter wonderland, signaling the arrival of the holiday season in Park City.

This year’s ceremony coincides with Small Business Saturday, offering an opportunity to support the independent shops, galleries, restaurants, and boutiques that make Main Street one of the West’s most vibrant and unique districts. From handcrafted goods and local art to warm cafés and award-winning dining, the area offers thoughtful gifts and memorable experiences for everyone on your list. Shopping local not only spreads holiday cheer but also supports the creators, artisans, and business owners who shape the community year-round.

The first 200 attendees will receive complimentary holiday light necklaces and candy canes, adding to the festive atmosphere as families, friends, and visitors gather to celebrate together.

The Holiday Lights Ceremony remains a beloved kickoff to the season in Park City. With music, community spirit, and the glow of thousands of lights, it’s an evening that captures the magic of the holidays and sets the tone for the winter ahead.
