Holiday Extravaganza on Ice brings skaters of all ages center stage

PARK CITY, Utah — The Figure Skating Club of Park City is excited to present its annual Holiday Extravaganza on Ice at the Park City Ice Arena on Saturday, December 6. There will be two community performances at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, starting at $5. Options available include children’s tickets, premium seating, and on-ice chairs.

The showcase will feature skaters of all levels, from young athletes performing in their first group number to seasoned competitors showcasing national-caliber artistry on the ice. Concessions will be available at both performances.

Founded in 2007, the Figure Skating Club of Park City supports skaters in a variety of disciplines, including freestyle, solo dance, pairs, and synchronized skating. The club offers membership programs, club ice, U.S. Figure Skating testing, and Aspire programming for developing athletes. This year, the club celebrated a significant milestone: three Park City skaters were named to the U.S. Figure Skating National Development Team.

Club Director Erika Roberts expressed pride in this achievement, noting that it reflects the strength of both the athletes and the supportive community. “Figure skating is a sport that builds resilience, joy, and lifelong friendships,” Roberts said. “Our Holiday Extravaganza is a moment where every skater—from our tiniest Snowplow Sam stars to our national competitors—gets to shine brightly. We hope the community will come to cheer them on and experience that spark of winter magic with us.”

The event arrives as global attention turns to the upcoming Winter Olympics, where figure skating remains one of the most-watched sports. The discipline has been part of the Olympic program since 1908 and continues to captivate audiences with its blend of athletic precision and artistic expression.
