Canyons Village kicks off holiday season with Tree Lighting Celebration Nov. 28

PARK CITY, Utah — The holiday season officially begins at Canyons Village later this month as the resort hosts its ninth annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration on Friday, Nov. 28.

The beloved Park City tradition will feature live music, photos and letters with Santa, seasonal food and drinks, and a fireworks finale lighting up the mountain sky. The free, family-friendly event welcomes residents and visitors alike to celebrate the start of the festive season in classic mountain-town style.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with live music from Metro Music Club and continue until 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy complimentary Orange Bubble Bites and receive a souvenir Park City Mountain ornament while supplies last. An Iceworks ice-carving demonstration will run until 5:30 p.m., and photos with Santa will be available from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m.

At precisely 5:59 p.m., the Canyons Village holiday tree will light up, followed by a fireworks display at 6 p.m., marking the official start of the winter season.

The tree lighting marks one of several holiday events planned at Canyons Village this winter:

• Opening Day: 21 (weather permitting), featuring the debut of the new 10-person Sunrise Gondola.
• Gondola Art Stroll: Launching Nov. 28, this self-guided walk showcases a curated collection of local art installations.
• Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade: 24 at 4:30 p.m., when skiers descend the mountain with torches, followed by a visit from Santa.
• Silver Sky Nights: Guests can enjoy live music, fireworks,  ice carving demonstration, and Orange Bubble Bites on Dec. 19, Jan. 3 and 17, and Feb. 14.
• New Year’s Eve at Canyons Village: 31 from 2 to 7:30 p.m., featuring live entertainment, family-friendly festivities, and fireworks.
• Après at the Airstream: December through April, visitors can unwind with seasonal cocktails and snacks at the cozy outdoor pop-up.
