UTAH — After receiving 10 inches of fresh snow in the days leading up to their November 21 opening day, Brian Head celebrated being the first ski resort in Utah to open for the season.
Opening day terrain featured top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding on five trails, according to the resort.
“Being the first resort to open in Utah makes this moment even more special,” said Amber Palmer, marketing manager at Brian Head Resort. “With fresh snow and strong snowmaking, our mountain operations team has been working nonstop to provide guests with an amazing opening day experience.”
Brian Head’s snowmaking operations have been expanded on Navajo Mountain. The resort expects that these improvements will allow more beginner and intermediate terrain to open earlier and remain open longer.
Opening day for Brian Head comes amid northern Utah resorts delaying the starts of their seasons due to lack of snowfall and warm temperatures that have been thwarting snowmaking operations.
