Utah ski resorts announce 2025–26 opening dates

PARK CITY, Utah – Utah’s ski season is taking shape as resorts across the state announce their opening days for winter 2025–26.

Brian Head, known for its high elevation and long season, is once again aiming for an early November 7 start. In Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude Mountain Resort has circled November 14 for its opening.

Park City Mountain Resort, the state’s largest, is targeting November 21 — the same day Alta in Little Cottonwood Canyon plans to welcome skiers back to its slopes. Just down the canyon, Snowbird, sitting only a few hundred feet lower in elevation, is planning a later start on November 29, along with Snowbasin Resort to the north.

Deer Valley, famous for its groomed runs and skiers-only policy, has set its opening day for December 1.

While the dates are subject to change depending on weather and snowmaking conditions, Utah’s ski community is gearing up for another season in the Wasatch.
