Red Bull Rampage returns to Utah, featuring women’s competition for second year

VIRGIN, Utah — The seventeenth edition of the Red Bull Rampage returns to Virgin, Utah, this weekend for a two-day big-mountain freeride mountain biking competition. Following the successful debut of the women’s competition last year, female riders will once again take to the trails, with the women’s competition set for Thursday, October 16, and the men’s on Saturday, October 18.

“Red Bull Rampage has been part of our story from the beginning,” said Jeff Robbins, president and CEO of the Utah Sports Commission. “As one of the first events we helped host in Utah, it has grown into a world-class competition and one of our longest-standing partnerships, highlighting both the sport’s progression and Utah’s position as a premier destination for action sports.”

Red Bull Rampage challenges a select group of the world’s best mountain bikers to ride down steep, rocky mountainsides while performing tricks and jumps on some of the most technical terrain in the sport. Riders are free to choose their own line, and instead of being ranked on time, they are judged by a panel of their peers on creativity and execution. The highest score wins the day.

While the event is always held in Virgin at the mouth of Zion Canyon, the course varies from year to year. The men’s 2025 course is the same one used in 2016, 2017, and 2021, while the women will ride on a site that previously hosted Red Bull Rampage in 2014–15 and Red Bull Formation in 2019 and 2022.

“It’s probably some of the coolest terrain out of any venue in my opinion,” said Red Bull Rampage veteran Carson Storch of the 2025 site.

For viewers in the United States, the event will be available exclusively on ESPN+. Visit the official Red Bull Rampage website for more information.
