PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City School District will host a community event titled “Let’s Learn Literacy” on Thursday, November 13, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Park City High School’s The Mine.
This family-oriented evening is designed to introduce parents and guardians to the district’s new literacy curriculum and to provide insights into how educators are supporting students’ reading development from preschool through middle school. Light refreshments will be served.
District leaders will begin the event with an overview covering important topics such as the Science of Reading, Utah’s new literacy legislation (SB127), and the Reading Rope model that forms the basis of the state’s updated standards.
Following the presentation, families can participate in 20-minute breakout sessions on a variety of literacy topics, including:
- Tier 1 Literacy (K–8): Featuring new curricular resources Wit & Wisdom and Arts & Letters
- Pre-K Alignment: Early Literacy through the 95% Core program
- Family Literacy at Home: Strategies to support reading and comprehension
- Support for Multilingual Learners: Tools for English language development
- Reading Intervention and Assessment Tools: How the district identifies and supports students who need additional help
The district encourages families to attend this interactive event to connect with teachers, explore educational resources, and learn practical strategies to support literacy at home.
