PARK CITY, Utah — Winter may still be weeks away, but Park City’s snow lovers aren’t waiting to celebrate.
Park City Brewing hosts the 2025 Powder Buoy Powder Party on Thursday night, bringing together skiers, riders and backcountry enthusiasts for a fundraiser benefiting the Utah Avalanche Center. The event doubles as an unofficial kickoff to the season — complete with gear giveaways and a piece of local ski history up for grabs.
The silent auction features equipment from Rossignol, DPS, Armada and backcountry navigation tools from OnX. But the headliner is an authentic four-person chair from the retired Town Lift, one of only four still in Park City.
The 21-and-over event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at 1764 Uinta Way. Tickets are $100 and include entry, three drink tickets, a build-your-own tacos and tots bar, and live music. Additional drink tickets available for purchase. Purchase tickets on the Utah Avalanche Center website.
The UAC provides daily avalanche forecasts and education programs across the Wasatch Range, services that have become essential reading for Utah’s growing backcountry community. Thursday’s party offers a chance to support that work while marking the unofficial start of another winter in the mountains.
