Free seminar aims to help parents support teens’ mental health

PARK CITY, Utah — A free community seminar on teen stress and anxiety is scheduled for October 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium and Community Room.

Hosted by Summit Support, the Mental Wellness Alliance, Mothers Against Media Addiction, and Live Like Sam, the seminar titled “Raising Resilient Children in a Stressful World” will provide strategies to help adolescents manage academic pressure, identity development, social media, and mental health. Organizers emphasize that parents, caregivers, and educators will leave with practical tools to enhance resilience and emotional well-being.

The panel will feature experts in education and mental health, moderated by Dr. Aaron Fischer, an adjunct professor of child psychiatry at the University of Utah’s Department of Psychiatry. Representatives from the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, University of Utah Child and Adolescent Programs, Intermountain Health Psychiatry and Counseling, and the Park City School District are also scheduled to participate.

“As teens face more stress than ever before, we believe every parent should have the tools and support to help their child succeed not just academically, but emotionally,” said Ron Jackenthal, executive director and co-founder of Live Like Sam.
