Eight new athletes are set to be inducted into the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, and among them is Park City local Lindsey Van, a trailblazer in women’s ski jumping.
Van began ski jumping at just seven years old, but during her early career, there were no international competitions for women in the sport. She persevered, becoming a pioneer for female athletes and later capturing 40 international podium finishes and 16 U.S. titles. In 2009, she claimed gold at the first-ever women’s ski jumping World Championships.
Van also played a key role in the successful push to include women’s ski jumping in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Since retiring in 2015, she has continued to advocate for the sport and for opportunities for female athletes. In August, she was also inducted into the Will and Jean Pickett Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame.
Another Utah honoree this year is Raelene Davis, recognized as one of the sport’s most influential marketers. As Ski Utah’s marketing chief for 40 years, Davis helped introduce elementary school learn-to-ski and ride programs and co-founded the Discover Winter program, expanding access to winter sports
The Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 will be officially inducted during the annual Snowsports History Celebration at Snowbird on April 11, 2026.
