SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has announced the distribution of $261,000 in grants to 51 organizations working on community enhancement and environmental initiatives across Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. The funding represents one of the Foundation’s four annual grant cycles.
“These organizations lift up our communities and protect our natural surroundings for future generations,” said Dick Garlish, director of the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and president of Rocky Mountain Power. “It is an honor to support their inspiring work and help build communities where everyone can flourish.”
The grants support diverse initiatives, including affordable housing, workforce support, ecosystem conservation, trail restoration, and outdoor education programs.
Among the organizations receiving support are several Summit County groups:
- Summit Community Gardens & EATS – Supporting food security and community building through sustainable gardening initiatives
- Summit Land Conservancy – Working to protect local landscapes and wildlife habitats
- Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation – Maintaining Olympic venues and promoting youth sports opportunities
- Wasatch Wildlife – Conserving ecosystems and wildlife populations in the Wasatch Mountains
The Foundation’s grant program reflects a commitment to fostering resilient communities and protecting natural landscapes across the Mountain West. These investments enable local organizations to expand programs and tackle projects that support both environmental protection and community development.
With three additional grant cycles planned for the remainder of the year, the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation continues its partnership with organizations building stronger communities throughout Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.
