Official results in for Summit County Primary Elections, Candidates prepare for General Election

PARK CITY, Utah — Official results are in for the 2025 Summit County primary elections. Henefer, Coalville, Francis, and Park City each held primary elections and finalized their results on or before Aug. 26.

In Park City, Tana Toly, Diego Zegarra, Jeremy Rubell and John Kenworthy are running for two open city council seats. City voters will also elect a new mayor, although because there are only two candidates, there was no primary vote.

In Henefer, incumbent Kay Richins and James Rees will be running for mayor on the November general election ballot.

In Coalville, Rory Swenson and Lynn Wood advanced in the mayoral race. Matthew Boyer, Jeff Peterson, Andrew Nelson, and Steven Richins will be on the ballot for two city council seats. Coalville City Council candidate Colleen Goodman withdrew from the race after the primary election, opening up the fourth spot to be filled by Richins.

In Francis, four council candidates are advancing to the general election: Riley Atkinson, Lynsi Stone, Clayton Querry and Shana Fryer.

Although there were some close races, primary election results in Summit County remained unchanged from the preliminary results after the official canvass. There were 3,606 ballots cast by residents, representing 45% of the county population.

The General Election will be held on November 4, with candidates campaigning for their spots through fall.
