Police Log: Theft at Junction Commons outlet; reports of stalker at North Summit High School

Monday, September 15
Incident: Theft
Deputies responded to a reported theft at the Oakley Vault outlet on Landmark Drive. The suspect fled in a Ford Escape, which was later located using license plate reader technology. The stolen Oakley sunglasses were recovered from the vehicle, along with additional stolen items from another store. The male suspect was arrested for retail theft and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Incident: Wildlife Problem
A deer was reported on the trail across from McPolin Elementary, appearing to have been hit by a vehicle.
Incident: Attempt to Locate / Suspicious Vehicle
A Range Rover Sport was reported traveling into Park City from Park City Hospital at 35 mph below the speed limit. The caller suspected the driver was intoxicated.
Tuesday, September 16
Incident: Hit and Run
A vehicle was reportedly side-swiped by a truck at the intersection of SR-248 and Kearns Boulevard. The truck did not stop, and the caller requested to speak with an officer.
Wednesday, September 17
Incident: Vagrancy
A person was reported sleeping on a bench outside the Park City Library on Park Avenue.
Thursday, September 18
Incident: Traffic Stop
A driver on Main Street was given a warning by an officer for passing on the left at speed without giving proper time to clear the way. The vehicle registration was also expired.
Friday, September 19
Incident: DUI
Deputies responded to a non-injury crash on Homestead/Rasmussen when a vehicle drove through the scene on a rim due to a flat tire. The driver displayed signs of intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested and booked into Summit County Jail after being cleared by the hospital.
Incident: Intoxication
High Valley Transit reported a belligerent male urinating outside one of their buses on Landmark Drive. The male could not care for himself and was booked for public intoxication, public urination, and several outstanding warrants.
Saturday, September 20
Incident: Assault
A complainant reported being slapped in the face by a suspect over a dispute about a political sign in Coalville. Deputies have not yet located the suspect.
Incident: Hit and Run
A vehicle was struck at the charging station on Main Street.
Sunday, September 21
Incident: DUI / Injury Crash / Warrant Service
Deputies responded to an injury crash on Echo Dam Road. Both vehicle occupants were under the influence. The driver had a prior DUI warrant, was transported to the medical center, and subsequently booked. The passenger was cited and released.
Incident: Stalking
Multiple individuals at North Summit High School reported being followed by a male driving a silver Kia. The suspect was stopped in Hoytsville, and paraphernalia and small amounts of marijuana were found in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for stalking, drug-related offenses, and multiple traffic violations.
