PARK CITY, Utah — Park City’s Women’s 55 & Over 6.0 tennis team is headed to the USTA National Championships after a decisive victory at the Intermountain Sectionals in Denver.

The team, which plays out of The MARC in Park City, represented Utah in the Sept. 12–13 tournament that drew competitors from Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Nevada. Over two days, the squad played 12 matches and came away unbeaten.
Co-captains Cynthia Perry and Sharon Bush led the 11-member roster, which included Deborah Black, Lisa Graveline, Marcey Goldner, Lauren Karr, Sue Ann Kern, Mary Anne Koson, Laura Maurer, Patty Moran and Marti Skjervem.

“We are beyond excited to be going to Nationals,” Bush said. “Lani Wilcox and Tim Donnelly at The MARC have done a tremendous job training, guiding and developing our skills, and we are so thankful.”
Bush added that the team is eager to carry Park City’s name onto the national stage. “Not only are we representing the Intermountain Division, but we are representing Park City. We are going to be kind, respectful and kick some butt,” she said.
The team will compete in the USTA Nationals, scheduled for Nov. 7–9 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
