PARK CITY, Utah — Schools on the Kearns campus were placed in “secure” status this afternoon after the Park City Police Department received a report of a “possibly armed individual” at Park City High School.
“We take situations like this seriously and acted quickly to ensure the safety of student and staff,” read a memo sent out to families. “During a ‘Secure’ status, all students and staff are brought inside, exterior doors are locked and normal activities continue within the building.”
According to the PCPD, officers conducted a thorough investigation, including a review of video surveillance. After their examination, officers confirmed that the reported individual did not pose a threat.
The report came in at 1:47 p.m. and law enforcement were able to provide the all-clear by 2:13 p.m., before the end of the school day.
